Exploring the Rich Traditions of Ghana

A Homecoming Celebration

Timothy and Deborah brought the guests who were to be given Ghanaian names from the United States of America for their homecoming tour. The special day was on 9th October 2023, and they booked 13 rooms at Charlestina Beach Resort. As the guests arrived, we took care of the decorations, ensuring the venue was filled with vibrant colors and traditional Ghanaian elements.

The Ceremony Begins

Chief representatives from Ampenyi officiated the ceremony, setting the stage for an emotional and unforgettable experience. In Ghana, a naming ceremony is performed for a newborn to give them a name and an ethnic identity. However, on this day, it was not just newborns receiving names, adults were also embracing their Ghanaian heritage. The ceremony got everyone crying tears of joy as they received their Ghanaian names and certificates.

A Day to Remember

The naming ceremony at Charlestina Beach Resort was a beautiful celebration of Ghanaian culture and heritage. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and the joy of reconnecting with one's roots. As the guests departed, they carried with them not only their new Ghanaian names but also a deep sense of pride in their heritage. The ceremony was a reminder of the importance of honoring where we come from and celebrating the diversity that makes us who we are.
